Day 2

It's about 6:40am, and I have a dull headache. I know it's just my body craving sugar and fat. I'm going to watch the documentary again to get some inspiration.

I have to try and drink the rest of this batch of juice right away so I can move on to something I enjoy, otherwise my motivation is going to drop.

I think this recipe comes out to be about 3 large glasses. It doesn't seem like a lot while I'm drinking them, but I juiced A LOT of veggies for the V28 recipe! Or maybe it seemed like more because it took forever.

Find the V28 recipe HERE (bottom of page).

It's going to be a long day. Maybe I can get my husband to take me thrifting to find some awesome vintage glasses to drink out of (like my fantastic Miss Piggy glass). :-)

If these aren't motivation, I don't know what is: Vintage Drinking Glasses.

  1. I am really inspired by reading your blog and I am so ready to get started. My mission this weekend is to get a juicer and all the fruits and veggies I need to get started. I am stuck though on what the best way to approach this is. Should I go through and read the recipes to figure out which ones sound like something I would like or just go buy random fruits and veggies and then pick recipes that contain them?? I am trying to start this Monday morning so tomorrow will be my shopping day... I can't wait to get started and I love reading about your experiences and progress!!!

  2. I started with the original "Mean Green" recipe, then tweaked it a little to my liking. The fruits are obviously the easiest to enjoy, but just remember to keep your day full of 80% veggies and 20% fruit. If I could do it over again, I would have replaced one meal a day with juice until I found a few recipes that I could handle for long periods of time, THEN I would have eased myself into juicing full time. I hope that helps!

    1. Is that recipe on the Reboot website because I don't see it and did you just buy a bunch of fruits and veggies to get started or what was your first step? I feel like I am lost as to what my starting point needs to be so that I can not mix the wrong thing and have a terrible first experience juicing! I need that "it's not so bad and I think I can do this" juice first instead of "yuck!!! I think I might gag everytime I try to drink this stuff" juice!!

It's the recipe titled "Green Juice", which was the main juice Joe drank in the film. I just bought the fruits and veggies I needed for one veggie mix (the green juice) and one fruit mix (I had apples, carrots and strawberries for breakfast). I would think buying massive amounts of random veggies would be overwhelming! Just remember that you don't have any kind of time restraints. You have the rest of your life to find the perfect combos, so have fun with it! :-)
