Purgatory.

Up There.

Purgatory.  That is where I am, as of now.  My apologies for beginning my first blog post in MONTHS on such a bummer note (aside from the fantastic movie above), but I'm ready for some changes... again.

Since having some heart issues and having a few different diagnoses (Tachycardia, PVC's, etc...), I have been SO afraid.  Afraid to exercise in fear of my heart bursting.  Afraid to eat anything with salt or caffeine in fear of my heart bursting.  So what do I do here in purgatory?

I am going to begin with what feels the most familiar... juicing.  I will take things slowly, yet again.

Ever since I started this blog well over a year ago, I have yet to meet a doctor who can not only give me a straight answer, but give me a "cure".

Last year, I began juicing because of stomach problems.  This year, I have heart problems.  I have not experienced any stomach problems since I focused on a health/research regime, so I'm hoping the same thing will ring true for my heart.

For those of you out there who are still following this blog (bless your hearts, no pun intended), or for those of you just finding this blog from a random Pinterest board... thank you.  Thank you for letting me vent and sticking around and for understanding that I am NOT perfect, I am NOT Jamie Eason (lurve her), I am not a vegan OR vegetarian, but I am health-conscious and I love discovering things about our bodies and the things we can do with them.

I am planning on cutting my Sasquatch-esque mane and donating it to Locks of Love this coming Tuesday.  I'm hoping I can get my talented sis-in-law to take some pics so I can share it with you all.  I have never had short hair, so in light of the New Year fast approaching...

... what have you been stuck on?  Your diet?  Your hair?  A relationship?  Diets can be simple with the correct research, hair can grow back.  Relationships should be rewarding, not destructive.  Let's get out of this rut before this next year falls upon us, eh?

My early NYR (New Year Resolution) is to breathe new life into this blog.  My followers motivate me to be better, and what could be better than that?

Juice on!

  1. I totally understand! I had a run of heart issues (palpitations and arrhythmias) when I started a new medication - the doctors said it couldn't be the new med... I had tests - all clean. I stopped the med on my own and the issues resolved. Sucked finding a new med (for my auto-immune disorder) but at least my heart is back to normal. I hope yours is, too!

  4. I have heart palps, pvcs and svt, where my heart races out of nowhere. It all started after having my son, he was 9 months old and all of a sudden this hit me like a ton of bricks. I went into terrible anxiety mode and thought I was dying. Now 3 years later I am a lot better, with the anxiety, not with the heart palps, those are still there. Kristen if you are on facebook please come find the support group for pvcs and heart arrhythmias. The group is called pvc ectopic cardiac arrhythmia support, it's a closed group so when you post questions or anything the rest of facebook won't see it, just the people in the group. Finding that group was a lifesaver for me, because no one understands until they have had these awful heart issues. We are like a family on there!!! Hope you are feeling better!! Keep juicing it has seemed to help my heart issues!!

  5. So sorry this is happening to you. I love your blog, you are a real inspiration to me a mother of three, struggling to find balance and lose the weight. You have made such wonderful progress, you are in my prayers. Hope you get better soon.

  6. You don't know me- I just stumbled onto your blog via Pinterest. I was just diagnosed with Celiac disease (an intolerance to gluten) and the more I learn about it the more crazy it gets. It can cause all kinds of problems and is very different from one person to the next. I have an uncle who was diagnosed a couple of years ago because he started having weird issues with his heart. As soon as he cut gluten from his diet and gave it time to get out of his system the heart problems went away. I can't tell you that is what is happening with you, but it's something a lot of doctors are uneducated about and might not even consider. It's worth asking for a blood test to screen you for it.

  7. I just found your blog today. I am feeling out New Years Resolutions....hardy har har. We'll have to see how that goes. The next holiday I have for gifts is my anniversary in February and would love to do the juice fast. I saw the documentary last year and have lost 31 pounds--without doing anything healthy. I am not like you, I am LARGE. My wi fit says that I need to lose 40 more pounds. Ouch! Anyhow, you inspired me to restart my blog today. I had honestly forgotten all about it! I refuse to go back and read my old posts because I'm pretty sure I would discourage myself. I look forward to your future posting. Here's to health, happiness and blogging! elizsjones/blogspot.com

  8. I just found your blog today courtesy of a friend's Pinterest account. Have you heard of Kris Carr? She had liver cancer and beat it by doing a lot of juicing and changing her diet a bit, especially initially. Her book is called "Crazy, Sexy Diet." Even if you don't follow her advice it might be encouraging to read about someone's own scary experiences.

  9. I'm happy to find your blog. I did see the documentary and found it to be inspiring. I tried juicing several months ago but did vary from the mean green juice. I gave up too soon. I have to say that my stomach felt so much better while drinking juice. I am going to try again, but this time I am going to mix it up.
I hope the doctors can figure out your heart issues. Thank you for the inspiration.
